Union government has announced the International Gandhi Peace Prize after four years for 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Vivekananda Kendra in Kanyakumari (2015), AkshayaPatra Foundation and Sulabh International (2016), EkalAbhiyan Trust (2017), and Yohei Sasakawa (2018) have been awarded the International Gandhi Peace Prize.

President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed senior advocates Sanjay Jain and K M Nataraj as Additional Solicitor Generals of India.

Detained Chinese lawyer, Yu Wensheng has been awarded the Franco-German Human Rights and the Rule of Law for 2018. Germany and France had decided to establish an annual international Franco-German Prize for Human Rights and the Rule of Law and for the first time, the prize was awarded on 1st December 2016.
