Assam Police Sub Inspector Recruitment 2018 [Un-armed Branch]

Besides the previous advertisement published on 11/04/2018, Govt. of Assam has given approval for the recruitment of another batch of Sub Inspectors in the Assam Police via the advertisement Assam Police Sub Inspector Recruitment 2018. Fresh applicants (male & female) and also the ones who could not apply earlier are invited to fill up these vacant posts.

Salary- ₹ 14,000/- to ₹ 49,000 + ₹ 8,700/- (Grade Pay)

Age limit- 20 to 24 years

  • For candidates who have graduated before previous advertisement publication (as on 01/01/2018)
  • For candidates who have graduated after previous advertisement publication (as on 01/08/2018)

Qualification- B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com or graduate in any equivalent stream from a recognized institution affiliated to a recognized university

Physical standards- As per mentioned in the previous advertisement

Interested and eligible candidates are required to apply via online mode as mentioned in the below steps,

  1. Passport size photograph- JPEG/ JPG format (3.5 x 4.5 cm), File Size (15 – 50 KB)
  2. Signature- JPEG/ JPG format (4 – 20 KB)
  3. Certificate of Age Proof (H.S.L.C/ equivalent admit card)
  4. Certificate of Caste / Tribe
  5. Certificate of graduation

  2. Click on RECRUITMENT from the top menu bar
  3. Click on Online Application under the heading RECRUITMENT FOR 130+360 POSTS OF SUB-INSPECTORS (UN-ARMED BRANCH) IN ASSAM POLICE, 2018
  4. Proceed further as directed
  5. Download the registration / Application slip with ID No.

Selection Process

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for a written test which will be conducted in all the District Headquarters.

Final merit list will be prepared with the following criteria:-

  1. 50% of Written Test- 100 Marks 
  2. 15% of Extra-curricular activities- 30 Marks
  3. 15% Computer Proficiency- 30 Marks
  4. 20% Physical Efficiency Test (PET)- 40 Marks

Syllabus for Written Test

Paper Type- OMR Based MCQ 

Total Questions- 100

Total Marks- 100

Mark for each correct answer- 1 (One)

Mark for each wrong answer- 1/2 (Half)

The question paper will be based on following three parts:

  • Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension
  • Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India
  • General Knowledge
