The Directorate of Library Services, Assam has released an advertisement regarding the DLS Assam Recruitment 2018 intending to hire various Assistants & Attendants.
Interested Indian national candidates are hereby requested to check below the desired eligibility criteria and apply accordingly via offline mode only in standard form as published in Part IX of Assam Gazette.
1. Name of the post ➡ Library Assistant
No. of vacancies- 1 (one)
Place of posting- Karimganj
Salary- ₹ 14,000/- to ₹ 49,000 + ₹ 8,700/- (Grade pay) per month
Qualification-
- Graduate/ PG in Library & Information Science from a recognized university
- Proficiency in computer skills
Age limit- 18 to 44 years (as on 01/01/2018)

2. Name of the post ➡ Junior Assistant
No. of vacancies- 14
Place of posting- Guwahati, Jorhat, Dhubri, N Lakhimpur, Goalpara, Karimganj, Morigaon, S Salmara, Biswanath, Pragjyotishpur, Hojai
Salary- ₹ 14,000/- to ₹ 49,000 + ₹ 6,200/- (Grade pay) per month
Qualification-
- Any graduate from a recognized university
- Proficiency in computer skills
Age limit- 18 to 44 years (as on 01/01/2018)
Age relaxation- As per mentioned in the official advertisement
3. Name of the post ➡ Counter Attendant
No. of vacancies- 2 (two)
Place of posting- Nagaon, Goalpara
Salary- ₹ 14,000/- to ₹ 49,000 + ₹ 5,000/- (Grade pay) per month
Qualification-
- Class 10th (HSLC) passed from a recognized university
- Proficiency in computer skills
Age limit- 18 to 44 years (as on 01/01/2018)
Age relaxation- As per mentioned in the official advertisement
How to Apply
➡ Interested and eligible candidates are required to apply in Standard form as published in Part IX of Assam Gazette
➡ Candidates are required to deposit the application fee (respective amounts mentioned below) into Govt Treasury in the head of Account “0070 other Administrative Services“
➡ Candidates already in govt service should apply through proper channel
➡ Candidates must have registered their name in employment exchange and registration number with date must be mentioned in the application
➡ Application form is to be accompanied with the following documents (self attested photocopies)
- Education certificate
- Age proof certificate
- BPL & Caste certificate (if any)
- Computer education certificate
➡ One self addressed envelope (11 cm x 25 cm) affixing postal stamp of ₹ 5/- only should be furnished along with the application
➡ Last date of receipt of application form- 30/11/2018
➡ Application fee-
- General 👉 ₹ 250/-
- SC/ ST/ OBC/ MOBC 👉 ₹ 150/-
- BPL 👉 Not required

Selection Process
➡ Only shortlisted candidates shall be called for the written test
➡ Successful candidates in the written test shall have to appear in the computer test
